Swiss Cowbell Award 2010

Swiss congress organiser ICM AG will stage its 9^th International Electronics Recycling Congress (IERC 2010) from 20 - 22 January 2010 in the Salzburg Congress Center in Austria. 400 delegates from industry, authorities, academia and NGOs will be present to discuss the latest information and challenges of the electronics scrap recycling business.

This year the Steering Committee of the IERC 2010 nominates the Cowbell Award to:

Karl-Heinz Florenz,

the ‘Father of the European WEEE Directive’

He will receive the award in recognition of his outstanding commitment, leadership and fight for a sustainable world, which has resulted in the creation of the most important regulation regarding electronics waste recycling on the European continent.

Swiss Environment Protection Agency, Switzerland

He received the award in recognition of his outstanding commitment and leadership which has resulted in the founding of the Mobile Phone Partnership Initiative (MPPI).

Swiss Cowbell Award 2008:

Prof. Dr. Ir. Ab Stevels

University of Delft, Netherlands

He received the award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to preserve our environment by developing and promoting efficient recycling technologies.

Swiss Cowbell Award 2007:

Prof. Theo Lehner

New Boliden AB, Sweden

He received the award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to preserve our environment by developing and promoting efficient recycling technologies.
