$21.5 Million Hazardous Waste Contract with U.S. Army

Environmental engineering specialist, Ecology and Environment, Inc. has been awarded a $21.5 million contract to provide architect-engineer services for hazardous, toxic, and radioactive waste programs within EPA Region 2 and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Northwestern Division.

According to the company, under the unrestricted, indefinite delivery contract will provide a wide range of environmental and engineering services to support military and civil cleanup projects for hazardous waste, including radiological and mixed waste, at federal Superfund sites and Department of Defense facilities.

The geographical scope of the contract covers locations primarily within EPA Region 2 (New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and the USACE Northwestern Division (including Kansas City, Omaha, and Seattle Districts).

The work is to include preliminary assessments/site inspections, subsurface exploration, chemical sampling and analysis, groundwater modeling, hazard evaluation and fate and transport analysis.

In addition, the company says that it will also be conducting remedial investigations/feasibility studies, archaeological investigation/mitigation, wetland determination/mitigation, remedial design, preparation of engineering plans/specifications, cost estimation, construction management, and community involvement.
