Garb E-Waste JV Starts Construction Planning in Indiana18 January 2012

Murray, Utah based e-waste recycling facility supplier, Garb Oil & Power has met with numerous government officials to advance its recycling project in the state of Indiana.

According to the company, its Indiana project, which is in conjunction with an EB-5 program managed by its financing partner, ACG, is designed to process approximately 55 million pounds (25,000 tonnes) of e-Waste each year.

In August last year Garb entered a joint venture with ACG Consulting LLC to build 7 e-waste recycling facilities within the next 3 years.

ACG is a manager and facilitator of foreign investors seeking investments in the U.S. under the EB-5 Pilot Program. The EB-5 Pilot Program requires that a foreign investor make a minimum investment of $500,000 in a U.S. company in order to experience the benefits of the program.

The company said that its proposed facility would provide approximately 100 jobs in a region that has lost many jobs due to automobile industry plant relocations, and that it would work with the community to divert valuable e-Waste from the region's landfills.

Garb said that it is working with the region government and ACG to erect up to seven of these plants in economically depressed area, and that it expects to expand the operation to neighbouring states.

In terms of technology, the company said that instead of using a high speed hammer mill to fraction the waste stream, it uses a slow speed fractioner to ensure that a range of sizes from too small to too big are avoided.

According to Garb, by doing this it avoids a lot of fines from valuable plastics and metals leaving the process and ending up in other streams.

The company claimed that each of its proposed facilities would be capable of producing earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation in excess of $10 million annually.

Garb CEO, John Rossi commented: "We are currently meeting with numerous Indiana government officials and our construction planning teams in preparation for our ground breaking expected early this year."
