Eriez ProGrade Auto Kwik Clean Magnetic Seperator Launched21 October 2011

A new magnetic separator that captures problematic ferrous metals and features automated cleaning has been launched by Eriez Magnetics Europe.

The company says that the ProGrade Auto Kwik Clean (AKC) Grate will add to its ProGrade range, and enable its customers to preserves product purity whilst eliminating downtime of machinery.

According to Eriez, the AKC Grate utilises Mega (10,500 gauss) Rare Earth magnetic strength and automatically discharges any collected iron due to pneumatic and electronic components.

The new separator contains 2 banks of magnetic tubes, with the top bank containing 7 tubes and the bottom bank containing 6 tubes. The magnetic component of the AKC Grate is 356 mm wide by 305 mm long and its typical capacity is nominally 50 tonnes per hour based on sand with a bulk density of 1.6 tonne per cubic metre.

According to Eriez, the self cleaning function allows the grate to be used in inaccessible areas where magnetic grates previously would not be considered, and with its perpetual process the new grate ensures maximum protection for valuable machinery.

The company says that the AKC Grate offers a high strength magnetic separation solution, which can be implemented across a wide range of reycling, bulk handling and process industries such as: food, chemicals, ceramics, pharmaceuticals and minerals.

Paul Fears, managing director at Eriez Europe comments on the AKC Grate's immediate availability from stock: "Our strategy of offering ready made solutions for trap metal problems is proving to be a great success. Often customers do not have time to wait for equipment that may take six weeks to manufacture."
