Primoris Renewables, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dallas, Texas based infrastructure contractor, Primoris Services Corporation, will participate in the construction of two new waste to energy facilities under a recently signed cooperative agreement with Synergy Renewables.

According to the company each of the two facilities will utilise a proprietary process to gasify approximately 180,000 tons (163,000 tonnes) of municipal solid waste annually in order to generate 10 MWs of electricity at each site.

Primoris said that Synergy Renewables, also based in Dallas, is planning to develop and build multiple waste to energy projects worldwide working with Primoris Renewables and Dynamis Energy - a technology and development partner based in Boise, Idaho.

The company added that the first two contracts under this cooperative agreement have been executed with Sunbeam Synergy to construct two waste to energy facilities in Puerto Rico. Sunbeam Synergy, LLC is jointly owned by Synergy Renewables, Sunbeam Caribbean Corporation of Puerto Rico, and Dynamis Energy.

The construction phase for the projects is scheduled to begin in 2012 with a commercial operation target of late 2013.

The company said that it expects the contracts are to generate revenues for it of approximately $40 million.
