11 January 2011Charlotte, North Carolina recycling, recovery and repowering company has acquired recycling firm Hudson Baylor and its 12 facilities in the Northeast and Southwest.
According to the Recommunity, Hudson Baylor has an additional two facilities opening in 2012, and it has also taken on the company's 300 employees.
The purchaser said that the move also initiates its expansion into the Western U.S., with Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tucson, Arizona and that Hudson Baylor's glass bottle recycling facility also complements its operations.
ReCommunity said that is focused on reducing the volume of waste sent to landfill through conversion into useful products such as recycled commodities, low-carbon energy, its branded ReEngineered Feedstock, bio-fuels and other value-added recycled products.
Hudson Baylor has been in the recycling business for 28 years and with this purchase, ReCommunity said that it will now operate 36 facilities in 12 states.
ReCommunity also claimed that with this purchase it is now the largest 'pure-play' recycling company in the U.S.
