Digital Print De-Inking Alliance formed
12-SEP-2008
A group of four inkjet press manufacturers have announced their commitment to research and assess digital print compatibility with de-inking and paper recycling processes worldwide. Hewlett Packard, InfoPrint Solutions Company, Kodak's Graphic Communications Group and Oce N.V. have been in talks regarding the objectives of the Digital Print De-Inking Alliance and the extent of research that will be undertaken.
While currently many recycling companies do have the capability to deal with digitally-printed paper, the need to for a worldwide industry standard is clear. The industry would benefit from research into different print technologies and the best recycling processes to use.
The DPDA's aim is to objectively research printer, paper and chemical additive solutions and their various combinations with the aim of promoting best practice in recycling standards across the industry. Companies will be able to ensure they are using the most cost-effective and practical methods which will benefit industry standards worldwide. The Alliance has stated its commitment to seeking co-operation from all relevant industries.
