George W Bush proclamation on America Recycles Day

George W Bush, US President, has released a proclamation highlighting 15 November 2006 as America Recycles Day.
America Recycles Day claims to be the only nationally recognized day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and buy recycled products. Since its inception in 1997, the campaign, which is led by grassroots organizers in communities nationwide, has grown substantially with residents in every state pledging to recycle.
The opening of the Presidential proclamation begins 'Good stewardship of the environment is a personal responsibility and an important public value, and on America Recycles Day, we highlight the many benefits of recycling. By taking steps to reduce waste and re-use materials, we can save precious natural resources, enhance the beauty of our communities, and add to the health and prosperity of our Nation.'
